Thank god the union prevents my bosses from pulling that shit. Anything over nine hours is completely optional.

I love clocking long hours at the start of the week. It just means that I’ll get an early start to the weekend, or I’ll get some overtime pay on my next check. (Driving home after the rush-hour traffic has died down is a plus, too.)

Well I am in a union but it’s show biz, so we get in double time and ride it out. One Oracle show move in I did graphics from 8am to noon the next day. I had breaks and I napped, lunches and dinners are an hour. But I was a Marine so it still feels easier to me.

Oh its great, if I can work til 7pm or later I gain that time lost in traffic back. 1hr to 1.5hrs home if it’s bad, 30 min no traffic, plus I get on overtime.

Oh I get time-and-a-half for overtime, as well as two paid 15min breaks and an hour lunch. I’m also almost impossible to fire unless I steal or punch a manager or something.

Yeah we had two guys punch each other and they don’t work for the big company anymore. The one guy had a shop contract and pretty much had to punch someone to be fired from that contract. He is an idiot and would have been fired from anywhere else for being a giant cock, so I’m happy he was as stupid as I thought.
